Over the past decade, the name Carl Jones has become synonymous with cutting edge animated TV comedy. He is best known for his work as Executive Producer and Head Writer of Black Dynamite: The Animated Series and Co-Executive Producer of Adult Swim’s The Boondocks, the first Cartoon Network program to win a Peabody Award and be nominated for a NAACP Image Award.
Additionally, Carl Co-Created, Executive Produced and Co-Wrote Freaknik: The Musical, an animated special starring hip-hop megastars T-Pain, Rick Ross and Snoop Dogg, developed 50 Cent’s animated property, The Playground for FOX/Imagine and recently finished producing and writing two seasons of the animated series Legends of Chamberlain Heights for Comedy Central. Carl’s talents extend into the live action sketch/variety space as well. He was tapped to write/Executive Produce In the Flow with Jamie Foxx for Fox. He developed, produced and co-starred in The Super Rumble Mix Show for Super Deluxe, and was the writer for BET’s The Soul Train Awards monologue for host Erykah Badu.
Carl’s repertoire expanded into the Music Video and Reality TV spaces this past year when he produced Zombie Walk, an animated/live-action hybrid film for rapper, Desiigner and produced animation for Akil The Fugitive Hunter on A&E. Most recently Carl wrote for The Jellies starring Tyler The Creator and served as Executive Producer/Show Runner on Lazor Wulf, both new animated TV series for Adult Swim.
