In 2001, author Kara Ballenger began sketching out mini comics and panels for Fire Sphere. Ballenger was going through one of the most difficult periods in her life at the time, and her own life and struggles began to pour onto the page through her character Gabrielle Kimura. Over the years, Gabrielle helped Ballenger gain the inner strength she needed, but something still seemed to be missing. So six years ago she drew up another mini comic which included the character Ahmes. Ahmes was the embodiment of everything Vahagn hoped to have in her life one day, and the Egyptian goddess filled the missing pieces that had previously existed in Fire Sphere. Now Ballenger is thriving as a person, and Fire Sphere is quickly becoming a wonderful story that aims to help anyone who is struggling in their life rise from the ashes to become the best possible version of themselves.
After 16 years of constant work on this story, Ballenger hopes all of you love and cherish her baby, Fire Sphere. “I woke up in darkness. There was nothing but a door and an orange cat. He wanted me to follow him, so I did. I didn’t know where I was, or who I was, and I had thoughts but I couldn’t speak. People wanted to help me, but I couldn’t even help myself. I couldn’t even tell them that I didn’t know what was going on. The only thing I know for sure is that there are souls all around me. Am I dead? Why am I here?” Follow Gabby as she begins her search for her identity and her purpose. As you read you will meet every mythological creature imaginable, and you will slowly learn who Gabby is along with her.
